Former NASCAR Whelen Home Track driver and team lead here: You're absolutely correct! I don't know if it should be considered a "sport", per say, but driving a stock car at those speeds and for those durations isn't really anything to scoff at. The G's aren't really that big a deal, although over multiple hours, it can get uncomfortable, though not necessarily enough to cause pain or reason to stop. The real challenge of racing (and why it's so boring and mind-numbing to watch) is that it's all about precision. At those speeds, with those aero forces, a slip up can cause big trouble for both driver and car. When I was racing, I practiced hitting a 1.25x1.25 inch (3.175x3.175 cm) with the leading edge of my front left tire. It's pretty difficult to get right consistently, and why it's such a challenge to drive one of those cars. Braking time, brake pressure, brake duration, angle of steering, weight transfer from side to side and front to back, tire grip, weather, temperature of the track, tires, and air, the other cars, your spotter in your ear, and even how worn your tires are all run through the driver's head constantly when racing. You HAVE to keep track of all of those if you want to do well. The exertion factor though, I'll get WAY more tired from racing than from wanking. There's the mental factor to go through as well, and your heart rate if you race will probably shoot up. (Maybe that's cause I was racing in 100+ degree (f) weather....) Essentially, though, it is just going fast and turning left.

Fun fact race car drivers lose 9lbs if their body weight from driving, at least formula one anyway. They also have to go through brutal training to be able to handle the g forces for a very long time. And also risk their lives every time they get inside the car due to the speeds. NASCAR is a sport beacuse it takes lots of strength to do Unlike rollercoasters the GeForces are for extended periods of time and 3 g makes a 150lbs driver feel live 400 lbs making it even more difficult to drive The cars also don’t have power steering so it is already difficult to turn the weak on top of that he car is moving so the friction + the rotational inertia of the tires spinning makes it to where the drivers need to exert way mor that you would in your a regular car
